Keeping Your Pet Perfectly Cool

After all, we love them, feed them and care for all of their needs – why not ensure they are perfectly temperate too! We have air-conditioning in the car, heating in the house and, of course, layer upon layer of clothes to add or remove to ensure we always stay exactly the right side of toasty. But what about you’re beloved pooch or pussycat? Poor Rex or Tiddles is stuck in a sumptuous fur coat come rain or shine. Arguably their need for air-conditioning is far, far greater than ours. But why stop there? What about hats, coats and umbrellas?

Kennel air conditioning

Lovely Lacy here seems thrilled with her air-conditioned kennel. So thrilled in fact she appears to be smiling. If it’s 40 degrees C outside and your owner – selfishly – has no pool to splash around in, it’s the only way to keep cool. Perhaps it would have been better if Lacy’s owners hadn’t scrimped on materials though. Call that a kennel? Looks like a caravan.

Rex kennel A/C

Rex’s dedicated owners here have definitely splashed a little more cash. Lovely timber structure, solid slate roof – it’s a veritable doggy dream house! However, they clearly spent all the moolah on this state of the art kennel instead of the upkeep of the garden. Nice chicken wire fence guys. Oh and surely raking up a few leaves isn’t too much to ask. Some people.

Cat kennel aircon

It’s not just man’s best friend that can benefit from a little air-con either. While kennels inside the house may be a bit odd, your feline friend will surely thank you for it. Plus, it comes with a handy lift up roof in case…er… Just in case your cat needs even more of a breeze. Maybe. I dunno.

Dog hat with ears

But when you’re trying to make your furry friend as comfortable as possible, you need to think outside the box. Cold ears Fido? No problem. Bam! Check out this oh-so debonair ear hat. Performing the function of not only keeping those ears nice and toasty, but also ensuring other dogs don’t notice with these stand-in knitted ears. Clever, very clever.

Dog umbrella

Raining outside? While other dogs may have to venture out and risk getting soaked to the skin, not so for this discerning dachshund. This trendy umbrella with tartan trim means he is never caught out in a shower. May look a little silly when it doesn’t rain though! And it makes him a rather tiny target for lightning.

Penguin Jumpers

What do you do when you feel a little chilly? Throw on a jumper of course, and why should these penguins miss out? However, while it is important to keep warm when it’s cold out, I’d sack the stylist. Seriously guys, lime and hot pink? Tangerine and low cut necklines? What were you thinking?

Dog cage outside car window

The obvious answer to an age-old problem – how to keep your pooch beautifully cool when your old banger lacks climate control? This handy cage means that your four legged friend can practically throw themselves out of the car to catch a breeze. It may make parking more difficult though. And the racket would be unbelievable. And it looks awful. Swings and roundabouts ay?!

tiny pig in red wellies

Have you ever heard of anything more ridiculous than a pig that doesn’t like to get its feet wet? I give you this little porker who refuses to venture out without his miniature wellies on (they’re keyrings in case you’re wondering. You cannot buy wellies that small!). It’s an ingenious solution to a completely bizarre problem. The only thing I’m baffled by is how he keeps them on… surely they’d slip right off trotters?
