Why Choose a Floor Standing Air Conditioner?
One of the main reasons people decide to have a floor aircon unit is due to the ease of installation and the implied cost savings. The internal aircon installation work simply involves wheeling the unit to its desired position and drilling a small hole for the pipe-work to leave the room. These units are also ideal if you are planning to move your business but want a short term AC solution which can easily be relocated to your new premises.
In terms of power they are similar to ‘under-ceiling’ air conditioners and most floor units can easily pump air up to 10 metres away. The units that we install all have both cooling and efficient heating modes so they will keep you comfortable all year round,
The Samsung Q9000
Most floor-mounted units are quite plain and ‘boxy’ and designed purely for commercial use. Samsung, however, decided to create a floor unit with a difference. They have used their expert design team to develop an impressive AC unit that is probably more suited, aesthetically, to a home rather than an office, but would work just as well in both situations. It has the appearance of a high-end speaker system and its compact body reduces the amount of floor space required. They have quickly become a ‘must-have’ in homes in London.
The Q9000 has ultra efficient A++ smart-inverter technology that stops the Q9000 wasting excess energy when cooling which saves on your energy bills when compared to ‘non-inverter’ air conditioners. All three fans on the unit can be operated individually to suit your activity.
The Samsung Q9000 can also be fitted with ‘Virus Doctor’, a device that has taken the industry by storm. It uses advanced S-Plasma Ions to kill 99% of all airborne viruses that pass through it. This means illnesses like influenza are far less likely to spread around your home or premises.
Ultra-Efficiency, Advanced Technology
As noted above, floor standing air conditioners are extremely efficient and the inverter technology (included in all the units we recommend and install) can provide years of reliable and economical service.
These units are so efficient that the government has introduced a scheme to encourage domestic consumers to install air conditioning systems in their homes. For domestic or residential installations, you now pay just 5% VAT rather than the usual 20%. One of the main reasons for this is that the heat pump and inverter technology on our split floor-standing air conditioners can be much more efficient than traditional methods of heating e.g. radiators and electric heaters.
